- A day or two ahead is usually enough, and same-week slots are common. Bookings need at least 24 hours' notice; larger projects are best scheduled a week out.

- For ordinary repairs like drywall patching, flooring, trim, painting or fixture swaps, no permit is needed in Washington. Structural changes or new electrical and plumbing runs do — I'll tell you upfront if a job crosses that line.
